Hidden Perspectives is a rainbow student community led by Arts Equity in the Faculty of Arts, University of Auckland. We meet on Tuesdays for lunch and host a range of events throughout the year including My Queer Research and Meet the Researcher sessions, movie screenings, and other social and academic activities. Our events are safe spaces to come and just be yourself, and to be with other LGBTIQ+ people and allies in a place where we can trust it’s safe to be out of the closet. Hidden Perspectives is also committed to bringing the academic study of the arts ‘out of the closet’, showcasing and encouraging our commitment to queer studies in the Faculty of Arts.
On this site you can get to know more about the people involved in Hidden Perspectives, and to see what other opportunities are available at the University of Auckland and in the city more generally. You can find out more about the whakapapa of Hidden Perspectives, and its commitment to bring the arts and humanities out of the closet. And, you can learn more about our partner project at the University of Sheffield, UK via their blog.
